WHEN SHOPPING...

Use BPA free food-grade silicone pet food bowls that are non-toxic and dishwasher safe.
Super absorbent microfibre towels dry a wet dog faster and more efficiently than regular towels. Takes less energy in the dryer too!
Use natural flea sprays that contain no harsh chemicals or toxins and are safe to spray around pets and kids.
Dogs get shoe fetishes too! Reusable, waterproof dog boots come in a rainbow of colours and are 100% biodegradable after many wears.
Use collars, leashes, pet carriers and other accessories made from natural products, such as hemp and bamboo to reduce exposure to toxins.
A bed made of natural fibres reduces the amount of harmful chemicals and toxins that your cat or dog is exposed to. Regular foam beds can contain fire retardants and other chemicals.

WHEN OUTDOORS...

In a rush to get Rover out for his walk? There’s no reason to forget dog waste pick up bags when you install a wallmounted bag dispenser near the door for easy, quick bag dispensing. Picking up waste keeps our green spaces clean and reduces pollution and contamination of waterways.
Check with your local municipality to see if pet feces can be included in your organic bin and if they should be in a biodegradable bag.
If your municipality cannot accept pet waste, another option is to compost pet waste in your very own backyard. A pet waste composter keeps waste out of our landfills and prevents it from polluting waterways. Pet waste composters should be separate from any other composting systems and be kept as far away as possible from the nearest water body. Use pet waste compost on flower gardens only, away from children.
Keep your dog leashed (and cat too) to protect plant life and wildlife in forests and wetlands.
Keep your dog from straying off designated trails in parks and conservation areas to protect nesting birds and turtles.
Cats can be wildlife savvy by wearing a leash and collar bell to alert and protect birds and other wildlife.
Consider planting an edible garden for your feline companion and let your cat graze on a salad bar of catnip, cat mint, cat thyme, wheat grass and oat grass. Even valerian (known to make humans sleepy) can give cats a perk. A perfect yet healthy way to spend some time outdoors!

WHEN INDOORS...

Cats groom themselves by licking. By vacuuming frequently you can help protect them from toxic chemicals found in house dust. And don’t forget to take your shoes off at the door to prevent outdoor toxins from entering the house.
To create a healthier indoor environment, use eco-friendly green cleaning products to clean your home and your pet’s bedding and dishes regularly.
If your precious feline or canine has tired of some of their toys, donate them to an animal centre where they will be appreciated by those less fortunate.
